Mother's Day can be traced back to many different times in history. The earliest history of the celebration dates back to the ancient annual spring festival the Greeks dedicated to maternal goddesses.  The Ancient Romans celebrated for three days with parades, games and masquerades. Today is International Women's Day! It is an international holiday celebrated each year on March 8.  Growing up in a Polish household, this day has been celebrated for as long as I can remember. Every year on March 8th, women are celebrated and shown appreciation, usually by way of gifts such as a bouquets of flowers.
